The cathedral’s Romanesque facade
Angel musicians escape from one of the cathedral vaults and come back to life to give a Celestial concert.
Some, which are digitally restored, are animated, their fingers playing real notes, their cheeks filled with air to blow into bagpipes or flutes, their wings allowing them to fly.

About the angel musicians
A fresco was discovered in one of the chapels in the cathedral chevet in the 19th century, showing 47 angel singers and musicians and dating back to the 14th century: wonderful evidence of the range of medieval instruments: eschiquier, psaltery, double flute, etc
This rare ensemble is in the process of being attributed to Jean de Bruges, the creator of the famous Apocalypse tapestry kept in Angers.
The musical score is by Richard Dubugnon, a young contemporary composer.
